…I’m having my first problems with comment spam. There’d been a couple of isolated incidents before, but now there’s a continuous stream of spam comments attempting to get through. So, I finally got around to installing Akismet to hopefully automatically deal with that stuff.

Also, sometime this evening or tomorrow I will be upgrading WordPress and the Tarski theme again, so this blog will be briefly down. Then, if I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll attempt to install a couple more plugins to add the ability to preview a comment before posting it and to “subscribe” to a comment thread.

Off topic, but…

“Do innovation management on technology enablers” is one of the most unintentionally hilarious phrases I have ever heard someone seriously utter.

That is all.

Another Upgrade

In theory, I have just successfully completed an upgrade to WordPress 2.1 and the latest version of the Tarski theme. Let me know if you see anything unusual.

I Was Not Prepared…

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade

…for how much of my free time the World of Warcraft expansion would take up. Posting to resume shortly.

I just upgraded to WordPress 2.0.7; with any luck everything should be working fine. I also made a few small changes; there’s now an archives page and it’s now possible to browse back to posts that have “scrolled off” the front page. As always, let me know if you see anything weird.

Yet Another Apology Post

Once more, apologies for the lack of posting to anyone who cares. Any time my daily schedule changes it takes me a week or so to start making time to write again, and that’s about all the excuse I can give.

I do have a number of posts in various stages of production (where “production” is defined as “I’ve been thinking about it but haven’t actually written a word”) but it might be a few more days before any start showing up; most of my writing time will probably be going to finally finishing with the polish of One Hundred Days Chapter 15 and getting that out the door so I can get to work on the next (and final!) chapter.

In any case, neither I nor this blog is dead, and my thanks to everyone wasting their time reading my blather.

Upgrade Complete

I just finished upgrading this blog to WordPress 2.06. If you tried to read it in the past few minutes and it wasn’t there that’s why. A brief check by myself shows no problems; let me know if you see something weird.

Apologies for the unannounced hiatus. Not that anyone really cares, but apologies anyway. Chalk it up to muse exhaustion following completion of the draft of One Hundred Days Chapter 15, as well as a bit of a pause to consider just what sort of focus this thing will have. (Most likely there won’t be a lot episode-by-episode screncap/summary/review posts, as I’ve found those difficult and time-consuming to write with little payoff and others do it much better than me.)

Regular posting to resume shortly.

Status Reportage

I’ve got a couple of posts I’m working on for here, but to be honest my writing schedule has been all kinds of screwed up lately (and World of Warcraft’s siren call hard to resist… so much to do before the expansion pack hits). In addition, what writing time I do have is going to getting the next chapter of One Hundred Days together.

Don’t really know why I’m status reporting, since I kind of doubt anyone is really checking up on this . :)

On the slim chance that someone is checking up and reads my fanfiction, One Hundred Days Chapter 15 is roughly two-thirds done, weighing in at 69.6 KB so far.

Obligatory First Post

Well, actually there have been several posts before this, but they were all temporary testing things. This is the official first post.

…I suppose it needs some content, then.

My name is Aaron Nowack, and I’m here to blather on about things that are, ultimately, utterly insignificant. In the future, someone might actually read this thing and listen to me about them. If I’m known for anything on this Interweb thing, it’s for the fanfiction I’ve written. No, not pornographic fanfiction, sorry. My most famous fanfictions are the Naruto story “One Hundred Days” and in a distant second the Sailor Moon story “Shades of Gray.”

If any makes this pointless anime blog at all novel, it’s that. I don’t think I’ve seen any anime blogs that looked at things at all from a fanfic perspective. It’s kind of a shame the Naruto filler arcs are ending; they’re actually fairly interesting to consider from that perspective.

That’s enough of that, I suppose. Now to try and get some actual content together.
