Apologies for the unannounced hiatus. Not that anyone really cares, but apologies anyway. Chalk it up to muse exhaustion following completion of the draft of One Hundred Days Chapter 15, as well as a bit of a pause to consider just what sort of focus this thing will have. (Most likely there won’t be a lot episode-by-episode screncap/summary/review posts, as I’ve found those difficult and time-consuming to write with little payoff and others do it much better than me.)

    I long suspected that the main purpose of episode posts was to up the update rate, which was vital for aggregated blogs before RSS.

    Seems as good a theory as any to me.

    They do serve some value when the person posting them is capable of watching anime raw, as it can then serve as a preview before fansubbers release subs. I’m not one of those people, though, so episode posts are a little pointless except when I actually do have something to discuss beyond “here’s the episode; here’s some screencaps.”
